Responsible chauffeur

Avis Chauffeur trains its drivers in "responsible and community-friendly" city driving.
This mainly covers awareness-raising for city driving which represents nearly 86% of the period of use of vehicles by our clients.

 

Every quarter we offer our permanent and temporary chauffeurs training in adopting driving methods that are more environmentally-friendly (organisation of specific training and handouts).

 

This awareness-raising reduces the quantities of fuel used for transport and contributes to preserving our environment.

 

Avis Chauffeur is thus committed to a process of carbon offsetting, aimed at meeting the target of reducing carbon emissions by 15% a year.

"Grande Remise" (high-level carriage) licence

Grande Remise: a regulated profession.

 

Transporting passengers in chauffeur-driven vehicles ( saloon cars , minibuses etc.) is a controlled and regulated activity.

 

Avis Chauffeur exercises its profession through the so-called "Grande Remise" (high level public carriage) licence.

 

"Grande Remise" vehicles are attached to the Ministry of the Interior by the Prefecture in the category of first class taxi.

Governed by the Ministry of Tourism, a certain number of obligations and constraints are attached to this, such as a vehicle approval for each Avis Chauffeur chauffeur-driven vehicle issued by the Préfet and a comprehensive civil insurance policy.

 

All our chauffeurs are holders of the "GR" licence obtained after vetting and a compulsory medical exam.

 

As such, Avis Chauffeur's "Grande Remise" vehicles have specific vehicle registration papers and have a distinctive "GR" front plate.

 

Only the so-called "Grande Remise" companies are authorised to carry out chauffeur-driven services.
